Today, this stud farm is one of the divisions of the Lietuvos Žirgynas company, where about 300 Zemaits, large Zemaits, Arabian, Trakehner horses, and Shetland ponies are bred. To preserve culture and traditions, about 270 Lithuanian horses are kept here.

We are extremely proud of the horses of the Žemaituk breed bred at “Vilniaus Žirgyne”. Our Žemaituk stallions not only successfully appear in show jumping competitions of this breed of horses and ponies, but are also excellent breeders. Klarijonas, Kosmos, Kokos (high jump record holder who overcame the 155 cm obstacle), Tafunus (multiple prize winner in chariot driving), Toronto, Kompos, Turkis, etc. have won more than one victory. Perhaps older horse lovers still remember the large Zemaituk breed horse Ekspertas, who in 1965, 1966, and 1968 became the champion of Lithuania, was also a multiple winner and prize-winner of international competitions in show jumping, and since 1981 in honor of this horse, the “Expert Cup” competition is organized at “Vilnius Stud”.

Trakehners bred in our stud farm with excellent athletic qualities are also valued. Grant, Komfort, Karat, Kent, Luit, and Gray – prize winners of various show jumping and races, who won many medals. in 2014 the stallion Gray was awarded a gold medal at the international agricultural exhibition “AgroBalt”.

Horse breeders from Lithuania and abroad buy breeding and sports horses bred at “Vilnius Stud” due to their genetic and sporting characteristics. For example, the Belgian countess, who bought our bred Prizrak, widely announced the horse’s achievements to everyone, and a veterinarian and other accompanying persons came to take him away. Beautiful memories are also preserved of the stallion Vluosnis, who as a breeder is kept at the M. Ramanovskis stud farm, licensed for studding not only in Poland but also in Germany in the Trakehner Horse Association.

“Vilniaus Žirgynas” has the largest indoor arena in the country, as well as a hippodrome, fields where horses are trained and international level competitions and races are held. The stud farm has stables for over 200 places, where horses of the stud farm and private individuals are kept, as well as the only stallion sperm storage center in Lithuania.

Experienced and qualified trainers of the stable prepare horses for show jumping, teach horse riding, and instruct everyone who wants to ride and ride in sleds. Children are welcome in summer camps and groups, where they get to know the life of horses up close and learn to ride. In the valley of the Rieše stream, among the groves, everyone who wants can ride in an ancient mail and sports carriage, and organize a small celebration or a photo session.

Vilnius Stud Farmin 1949 “Vilniaus Žirgynas” was established near Vilnius.
